Description:
priv·i·lege /ˈpriv(ə)lij/ Noun a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group. Throughout a privilege walk, the following statements are read by the facilitator and the participants are asked to take a step forward or backward based on their responses. This activity forces participants to confront the ways in which society privileges some individuals over others. It is designed to get participants to reflect on the different areas in their lives where they have privilege as well as the areas where they don't (sourced from
edge.psu.edu). As a society, we have been taught to ignore the privileges we are born with, and grow into. We believe that privilege is not something to be ashamed of, and not something to ignore. We believe that privilege is something to be aware of as we walk through the world. Come join us in a space that will motivate learning, growth, and community!
